Episode278 19/06/05 #ItalianMusclesGuy #LadyFur

The gang is once again 75% here to review the dullness of the Vancouver game, look ahead to the Sporks game, get into all the CanPL and World Cup stuff, welcome an old friend back, and get to talk about way too many depressing social issues stopping us from sticking to sports, and Omar Gonzalez. In this episode, the microphone volumes are all at appropriate levels, which is nice. Tony and Duncan show appreciation for a historically underrated German team, Tony names the future Pacific FC academy, Duncan makes a crucial listening mistake and Kristin is left to pine for the olden days when others paid attention.

After a discussion, we will continue our affiliation to the wonderful website Giovinco.ca until further notice. Thank you for your support.

  1. What’s this about French songs and bananas? You want comments?

The only thing I can think of is Lio and “banana split”https://youtu.be/bsqLi9LfiwM she is more famous for her song “Amoureux solitaires” in the video she sings in her pajamas. This is in the time (90s?) when their was a wave of French jailbait singers, who could forget about Alizee “Lolita” https://youtu.be/zfXBNQMj2SE or Jen ai marre https://youtu.be/Vd6fuPQ-294. Or “Jai pas vingt ans”. Also Vanessa Paradis with “Joe le taxi”. Though Paradis is probably more famous in North America for being Johnny Depps first wife.

But I forget, what is your podcast about? Oh yes! Poor performing Canadian soccer teams. Oh no!

Though I remember the day that I only had one Canadian soccer team to be disappointed about, the men’s national team. How times have changed! Now I have so much disappointment to go around! So much to chose from! It brings a tear to my eye.

With the exception of Cavalry of course. Forge looks better now. Borges must of confronted Bekker and slapped him around, to force him out of his poor imitation of a soccer player.

Now let’s talk about TFC… actually let’s not. Change the subject, something else, anything else, please, I’m begging you! European hits of the 90’s, Canadian kids shows of the 80’s, metric system versus imperial system. Their must be something!?
