   Talking about mascots, there was various reactions on Reddit to Valour’s new mascot a lion. Some cheered, some jeered, some were ambivalent, some were confused in the reactions, others maintained what’s the big deal, it’s for the children, wont anyone think of the children?

   My take is… a lion really? My first thought of a man in a lion suit is of the cowardly lion from the Wizard of Oz. They are making it so easy to troll the team. Isn’t the team’s name based on valour road which is about the soldiers who were awarded a medal for bravery? And didnt the lion in the wizard of oz have no heart so he was given a medal at the end? There is a wizard of Oz joke in there somewhere.

   Could they not at least get a mascot of an animal that actually comes from Manitoba? Maybe a Moose, or mosquito or a Canadian goose. By the way have you tried to get near a goose nest in the spring. They will put up a major ruckus, at all costs protect your groin. Unless that is your thing having a bird attached to your tender parts…

   Speaking of fetish fowls, lions and soccer. Have you not seen Animal Soccer world? A movie (and game!) that must be seen to be believed, a true masterpiece of cinema of our generation, who could forget the S and M hooligan ducks… https://youtu.be/JIvjtfDoSlE
