Episode 387 – 21/11/10 #DeRoGecoin

The gang is mostly here to talk about the winding down of Canadian Premier League, Season 3, #CanMNT talk ahead of their qualifiers in sunny, exotic Edmonton this weekend, MLS season wrap up, #TFClive vs DC United and the final game of Justin Morrow, as well as other malarkey. In this episode, Kristin “has been detained”, Tony works the SuperChat (and it’s about time), Mark is enthralled at the idea of a ‘Scunny Bunny’ (and it’s not a derogatory label that we’re aware of), and Duncan picking up the scraps that the substitute host kept missing (like a damn pro).

  1. Why didn’t I get notifications that the superchat was open?! I checked my mailbox and opened all the doors, faithfully waiting. I would off sosld my soul to be a premium platinum platter lounge member. Yet no note, not even a whisper came…

It’s been a year since I posted. But some similarities in the CPL.

It seems Forge is in an inevitable path towards another championship. It was already written in the “Big book of Canadian Soccer.” They battled, bullied and broke their enemies down. They used every trick in the book. Their legendary exploits were foretold. It was predestined. As it was written it came to pass.

Perhaps they are the DC United of Canadian Premier League. They surely can’t keep up this performance?

Surely you don’t think they are the LA Galaxy of CPL?! You jest? If that’s the case then who will be the Beckham?

Maybe it will actually be Beckham. He could have a few free kicks in him. You could lure him to Hamilton with the unlimited funds of Tim Hortons. Just tell him keep his loonies and toonies in his pants, this double double is on the house. And that box of Tim Bits is bottomless.

Might be worth it just to see him being subbed on for Bekker in the last five minutes and miss a free kick. The rants from the supporters would be glorious.

Why stop at the Galaxy. The Galaxy is too small. Think bigger! Forge come beyond time, beyond the outer limits of your imagination. And they are ready to blow your mind! Warriors from the ends of the universe meet in battle that knows no boundaries… I stold those lines from a trailer from a movie. It’s a heartwarming story of a man with a disability that overcomes all odds against mighty foes including his nemesis the old blind old man. I recommend it for kids of all ages… https://youtu.be/RmdP1qTjGZY

Looks like Canada’s long drought of suffering might be at an end. The old hard core supporters of the men’s national team…How they suffered for what seemed an eternity. Dare I say they are masochists? Maybe, some things have to be endured. And that’s what makes the pleasures so sweet! You would think their souls would be torn apart by now. Has Herdman solved the puzzle box? The supporters can almost taste the pleasure…

For the old loyal supporters the days passed like eons. Oh the tales they could tell! The sights they have seen. The memories buried deep…
