WWC 2015: Quarter Final Preview. Canada, and the tournament, need a win here.

The round of 16 is done, which had it’s share of drama and entertainment, though just the one real upset and not even one game going to extra time never mind penalties. Now it’s the quarter finals and things are getting serious, there are no weaker teams only here due to the 24 team expansion left over, no gimmies and plenty of reputations on the line, question marks to be answered, including for the tournament overall....

The South Stand Report : Toronto v Montreal

Well that was a bit of a letdown last week.  Thought Toronto had them, but alas, like an elbow to the back of the neck, they went down. Now we’re playing the pathetically abysmal Montreal Impa… whuh? 17 pts you say? 5-5-2?  SINCE F’ING WHEN?!!?! Toronto FC vs Montreal Impact: Will We See Angry Determined TFC, Or Frustrated, Out Of Ideas TFC?

South Stand Report : DeRo Testimonial & Toronto FC v NYCFC

Well this was a long day. Not necessarily a bad one, just long. The Dwayne DeRosario Testimonial match was a fun affair. A bunch of legends with varying degrees of legendaryness suited up in a Canadians v non-Canadians.  Non-Canadians won 3-1, with Dichio bagging one and DeRo bagging the other three.  For whatever reason, the goalies were playing their A-games, as Stamatopoulos and Monsalve were going for gold in their own nets. I...

Toronto FC vs NYCFC: What Testimonial? Can TFC Beat The Baby Blues?

Two weeks has felt like a really long time hasn’t it?  Even though we’ve had the Women’s World Cup and World Cup qualifying matches for the men’s team all going on, it’s still been odd not having TFC to watch and it’s only been two weeks – we may be getting spoiled.  Anyway, they’re back in action this weekend to kick off a three game home stand over the next week – that’s...
