Episode 441 – 23/02/24 #AmyWalsh #OnyxKit

The gang is all here in a packed episode where Kristin has a very candid chat #CanWNT with former national team player and stalwart Amy Walsh @amy13walsh, wrap up the SheBelieves Cup, we ask our resident kit contributor about his experience with the new Toronto FC kit and the reactions, preview #TFClive and the usual elongated malarkey. In this episode Kristin correctly labels Amy as a legend (it’s true), Tony had his own ideas about the inspiration board, Duncan wanted to know if Amy shares nicknames with an old British wrestler (she doesn’t), Mark talks a lot about a kit (shocking, I know, right?) and Amy confirms that our once genius midfielder is a genius outside of the game.

    1. I don’t know why all this anger about the new kits. If anyone should be furious it is Mark Hinkley. I saw the leaked video of the Addidas meeting and Mark’s speech. They completely ignored his visionary input. His words were crystal clear what the team should wear.

Oh, my God, TFC in leathers, yes– the tasseled leathers, the turquoise studs on the leathers.

Dude, you stood up on your chair and said that speech for everybody! It was a damn good speech. It was very persuasive.

The whole speech with theis new kits, TFC will have the grace of a falcon, and they will be in and out like a demon’s whisper.

It’s a disgrace that Mark’s words of wisdom and design were passed by…

      On another note…

Yes, I heard the request on a previous episode that I should lift my head above water and venture forth to the stands. You wish me to display my splendor to the venerated vocal minority minions and all those around you despite my shy disposition.

It’s not a simple task for one as myself. Swimming from my small pond, down the winding Grand river, the many twists and turns that will boggle your mind! And that is just for a start.

Do you understand the dangers I will have to deal with? The predators abound, the rapids, the waterfalls. Not to mention the savages… They will set traps for me, lure me with cunning baits. Those headhunters salivate to see my fish head on a silver platter or mounted on a wall! Even worse I hear that some barbarians have a taste for raw fish!

Even if I managed to get to the stadium, I fear the guards shall block my path. Surely they will whisper to each other, “Something smells fishy…” They will lock me up for crimes despite my innocence.

      • This narrative alone both increases intrigue and alarms me for your safety. Do as you must, but know that you are forever welcome.

Also, had NO IDEA that was published. At least they kept the grey part, ugh!

    2. I believe if Adidas stayed true to your original design, Toronto FC would of gone on a home winning streak like no other. The tight red leather accents with tassels and studs was a design of a genuis! All other teams would of been frozen in awe against TFC running wild with those tassels flying in the wind. It would of been the talk of the league… no I say talk of the world!

The question I have is who on the team had the fortune to wear your original prototype? And do you still have the original sketches? Those foolish executives would never understand the work of a true artist, a master that peaks to the heights that others do not even dare dream of.
