Chicago Fire away

kitrating3

chi-away-2015In a nutshell : Inoffensive to the eyes, isn’t strict in sticking to the official colours

Not everything needs to be a dramatic departure. Not everything needs to be zany or bright or grabbing attention or annoying or crowdsourced. It can be simple and it can be subtle.

The navy with red stripe collar accents, along with the red shoulder stripes and the navy under-cuff and hip-to-hip back band lets the two horizontal light blue stripes, a nod to the civic flag of Chicago around the sponsor be a star.

It is a massive improvement from last year’s dull horizontal pinstripe offering. This has some character to it. You’ll also find a Chicago flag-based jock tag and the typical sloganeering on the inside of the shirt near the collar of “Tradition, Honor, Passion”. At least it’s standard and everyone seems to get one.

Get if : You like a nod to civic pride, your old white shirt isn’t as bright as it used to be, love to rep your oatmeal.

  1. great shirt if it wasn’t for the sponsor, which completely runs over the whole blue stripe chicago flag idea. worse and more intrusive than normal.

  2. When Mark reviews the new Dallas strip, is there a nice way of describing a wank session?!

    • Shocking fact : thought it is my club, I had no say in its kit.

Not as shocking fact : may only type that review with one hand.
